Effects Of Smoking On Your Cardiovascular System
The cardiovascular system or circulatory system (the heart, blood, vessels, etc.) get severely damaged by smoking. Nicotine has the effect of restricting blood vessels, which causes restrictions in the flow of the blood. Over time, this results in damage to the blood vessels and ultimately causes peripheral artery disease. Smoking also has the effects of raising blood pressure, increasing blood clots and the risk of experiencing a stroke. If you have already experienced a heart attack and/or are suffering from heart disease, smoking will worsen your condition. Smoking not only impacts your cardiovascular health but it also negatively impacts the health of your loved ones as second-hand smokers tend to experience all the same symptoms and diseases as first-hand smokers.
