Stop spending tons of money on expensive facial exfoliators! Chances are you already have everything you need to make your own at home. Whether you need something chemical-free or you are just looking to cut costs on beauty products, you will love these five easy DIY facial exfoliators. They make great gifts too if you are looking for a thoughtful thing to give the ladies (or gentlemen) in your life. Use in the shower or before bed at night along with moisturizer.

Simple Sugar Scrub

This super simple facial scrub is great when you are in a hurry. All you need is some olive oil and sugar. This recipe is also great if your skin is sensitive to chemicals or other additives. Mix one tablespoon of coconut or olive oil with two tablespoons of sugar. Epson salt also works great but be careful not to get any in your eyes! Mix the ingredients thoroughly and voila! When applying, make sure to do so in circular motions to clean skin. Afterwards, rinse off with warm water.

Blueberry And Honey Scrub

Blueberries have one of the highest antioxidant counts of any food. So in addition to eating them daily, use them externally on your skin to soothe away aging lines and sun spots. Combine one-half cup of fresh blueberries, two tablespoons of raw organic honey and one to two tablespoons of sugar in a blender. Blend on high until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Wash your face with warm water and you are ready to try out your blueberry and honey facial scrub. Remember to rinse all of the scrub off of your face with warm water after exfoliating.

Honey And Oatmeal Scrub

Oatmeal has a naturally rough exterior that is excellent for gently removing dead skin cells. It also contains a unique blend of protein that is great for rebuilding and repairing damaged skin. To make the oatmeal and honey scrub, simply combine one-half cup of uncooked oats, two tablespoons of raw honey, one teaspoon of nutmeg, up to fifteen drops each of lavender oil and Melaleuca essential oil, and one teaspoon of dried lavender. Apply the scrub to your skin and let it sit for approximately ten minutes before gently washing off with warm water.

Lemon And Sugar Scrub

Lemons have antibacterial properties which makes them great when used in skin care products to prevent and remove blackheads. Aside from that, lemons also provide a good amount of vitamin C to stimulate collagen production and reduce wrinkles. To make the lemon and honey scrub, combine the juice from one-half of a fresh lemon, one-half cup granulated sugar, and one tablespoon each of olive oil and raw, organic honey. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a whisk or blender. When finished, try out your product. Just be sure to keep it away from your eyes, as the lemon can sometimes burn or cause irritation.

Cacao Sugar Facial Scrub

This cacao sugar facial scrub smells so good you will want to eat it! Chocolate is full of antioxidants and phytochemicals that are great at improving skin health. To make the cacao and sugar scrub, mix one-quarter cup of brown sugar, one-eighth cup of olive oil, one tablespoon of raw cacao powder, and one-quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract. Rub gently over skin for sixty seconds and let sit for ten minutes before carefully wiping off with a warm washcloth. Wasn't that simple? Remember to store any leftover scrub in a mason jar for quick use next time!
