The individuals who had a high intake of soda were also found to be deficient in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals. After consuming just one can of soda, an individual may experience a sugar crash, which will have a person reaching for unhealthy and high energy foods in order to stave off the effects of the crash. The body will not burn fat as effectively as it should be if a can of soda has been consumed, not to mention that food choices later in the day will not be the healthiest.
