Simple Hacks To Get Rid Of Stubborn Blackheads
While most blackheads are typically not as noticeable as other types of acne, they are still equally as undesirable and annoying to look at. Blackheads are simply pimples not covered by the skin. Instead, they reside within the pores, and when they become oxidized, they turn black. This often makes us feel self-conscious as it resembles 'dirty' skin. However, blackheads do not necessarily result from unhygienic skin care practices.
In fact, certain medications, hormonal changes, the build-up of Propionibacterium acnes, and excess oil are the primary culprits. Whatever the case, these pesky blemishes put up a good fight when its go-time. Instead of wasting tons of cash visiting a dermatologist or loading up on mediocre skin care products, try using one of these natural remedies to rid your skin of blackheads forever.
Coconut Oil

While this method can truly work miracles, it is not recommended for those with naturally oily skin. Coconut oil contains many medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), and about fifty percent is classified as lauric acid. Lauric acid has been proven to destroy harmful bacteria and fungi that cause acne and other maladies within the body. Additionally, coconut oil contains capric, caproic, and caprylic medium-chain fatty acids, all of which are effective in the fight against all types of acne.
One of the best ways to utilize this oil to rid blackheads is to place your face over a pot of boiling water for no more than ten minutes gently massage the oil directly into your skin. The steam will open up your pores so the oil can better penetrate your skin, but be sure to allow the water to cool down a bit beforehand to prevent burning.
Baking Soda

Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is the holy grail of natural, inexpensive fixes. This powdery compound is a powerful antiseptic as it cleans and purifies most all surfaces, even the skin. Sodium bicarbonate is an alkaline substance, but when exposed to the skin it neutralizes its ph balance and reduces its oil production, which is one of the primary causes of blackheads.
Forming a combination paste of baking soda and water will create a superior homemade skin exfoliator. Apply this paste as you would any other exfoliator, and it will effortlessly scrub away dead skin cells and blackheads. To keep blackheads away for good, repeat this twice a week and continue for about a month. As a result, your skin will be in a fresher and softer state. For more severe cases, replace the water with an astringent such as witch hazel or apple cider vinegar.
