Maintain A Healthy Diet

Supporting the body by fueling it with healthful foods and beverages can help to speed healing or to manage some symptoms Cushing's syndrome may cause. Examples of a healthy, balanced diet including drinking lots of water, and consuming the right amount of protein, healthy fats, and carbohydrates, including fresh vegetables and fruits, dairy in moderation, and whole grains. To maintain a healthy diet, patients should also restrict or avoid any processed foods, or foods with a high amount of sugar and sodium, such as carbonated drinks, candy, and potato chips.
Monitoring Mental Health

Anxiety and depression are sometimes linked to Cushing's syndrome. Struggling with these symptoms along with battling Cushing's syndrome can result in even more stress. It's important to also address these symptoms in addition to the others. Finding a counselor or therapist can be extremely helpful in managing these symptoms. Though these symptoms are common, they should not be ignored or written off as insignificant. Getting involved in activities one enjoys or finding a support group can also help someone with Cushing's syndrome to keep watch on mental health.
