Salmon gets all the credit when it comes to omega-3 fatty acids, but sardines are an even better stress-fighting alternative. These small fish are incredibly rich in EPA and DHA, two essential fatty acids that reduce inflammation and support brain function. Sardines are also packed with vitamin D and B12, both of which play a major role in regulating mood and combating stress-induced fatigue. Unlike larger fish, sardines contain very low levels of mercury, making them a safer choice for regular consumption. Eat them straight out of the can, mix them into salads, or mash them onto toast for a brain-boosting snack.
