The most common side effect of vitamin B5 supplements is an upset stomach. Other frequently reported side effects include constipation, diarrhea, headaches, sore throat, nausea, dizziness, and abdominal pain. This drug could cause changes in blood test results, such as increased creatine phosphokinase (CPK) or increased alanine transaminase (ALT). Some patients have developed pancreatitis while using pantothenic acid. These supplements may also cause flu-like symptoms. Rarely, patients taking this medicine have noticed jaundice, muscle disease, or muscle wasting. Patients should let their doctor know that they use pantothenic acid.
