Guide To Pantothenic Acid

Potential Medication Interactions

While pantothenic acid is not associated with any severe medication interactions, it does have several moderate interactions. For example, this supplement has potential interactions with some antibiotics. These include erythromycin, clarithromycin, azithromycin, and roxithromycin. It is also associated with more than sixty mild medication interactions.

Patients should give their doctor and pharmacist an updated list detailing all of the prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, and supplements that they take. They should also remind them that they take pantothenic acid at every visit. Pharmacists should check this list for potential medication interactions before dispensing medicine for the first time. They should check before dispensing refills as well.
