The drug is comprised of a man-made thyroid hormone that is identical to thyroxine (the hormone that is the body naturally makes via the thyroid gland.

An ACE inhibitor, Lisinopril is sold in multiple generic forms with over 87.4 million prescriptions being handed out each year. The drug is typically used to treat high blood pressure and even heart failure. It has even been noted that is can be used to reduce the risk of death following a heart attack as well.
