Signs Of A Sociopath
They Exhibit Anti-Social Behavior

Sociopaths have trouble relating to others, partially because they don't (or act like they don't) care about anyone but themselves. Sociopaths do not love. In fact, they have been termed incapable of such things. Even their sex lives tend to be impersonal and poorly integrated. Sociopaths are extremely egocentric, even if no one recognizes it at first meeting them. This makes them very impersonal and unresponsive, unreliable in many ways, including not being present emotionally in any meaningful way.
Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is present in sociopaths, but not all of the individuals with this condition are sociopaths. Anti-social behavior is not the only criteria for diagnosing a sociopath, since individuals outside of sociopaths (like psychopaths) also exhibit forms of anti-social behavior. Additionally, those under eighteen can't be diagnosed with ASPD, but it is part of the criteria that the individual must have had a conduct disorder before fifteen. The behaviors they practice is against whatever system is working outside of them, perhaps because they think the world is against them.

Have Unstable Relationships With Others

Individuals with antisocial personality disorder, sociopaths, tend to have unstable relationships with others. Some may be able to maintain friendships or marriages for long periods, but the relationships are often draining for the other parties involved. Sociopaths struggle to empathize with others. They tend to manipulate events to suit their own needs, even if this causes harm to come to others. Some may also lash out often, which can lead to turbulent interpersonal relationships. They may appear charming and interesting on the surface, but then give way to much more turbulent behavior once a person has gotten close to them. It can be difficult to rely on a sociopath, and it can also be difficult to address their behavior in a way that promotes real change. Some individuals find the person with antisocial personality disorder will make an apparent effort at first, but it soon becomes clear that's just a renewed manipulation tactic.
